Sculpturing with Marina Büning

Originally from the north of Germany, since ten years ago Marina Büning lives in the Sabini Hills, located north of Rome.
She is a professional sculptor and painter, highly experienced in the education of adults, youngsters and children.

Guiding you to find your own shape is the aim of this course. Each of us has a rich potential for shapes, fantasies and possibilities to express ourselves. Through the years these are frequently hidden.

What matters is exposing and uncovering this potential. Sculpturing in stone is a slow process; and without a precise idea of what you’re making, you will come closer to your shape. The more your work continues, the clearer and more concrete it will be, slowly, working step by step from the outside to the inside of the stone
Each time you will find yourself confronted with the necessity to adapt or to change something. You will notice that in the end, it is the stone that guides you.  Altogether it is a kind of an adventure, which is most rewarding.

People with some experience might try to work with more of a purpose, making a clay model, which you could then elaborate in stone.

You are completely free in the design. True to nature or abstract, it is up to you.
Both advanced and beginners are welcome.

The courses will be given in English, Italian and German.
